Craniosacral Therapy in Woodinville, WA
Gentle, light-touch work that helps your nervous system feel safe enough to settle.
What is craniosacral therapy?
Craniosacral therapy is a very light touch therapy that works directly with your nervous system.
Your central nervous system actually has a rhythm of movement to it. We call that the craniosacral rhythm. When that rhythm gets interrupted because of trauma, an injury or tension, your nerves can't send their signals as effectively. That can show up as physical symptoms like pain, digestive issues or trouble with coordination, and it can impact things like your mood and focus too.
In each session, I look for the areas where your body isn't moving as freely as it could, and we very gently encourage movement there. Your body really leads the session; I'm just listening and following what it needs.
What a session feels like
You'll lie face up on the table in comfortable clothing, and you stay fully clothed the whole time.
Your main job during the session is just to focus on what you're feeling in your body. That alone helps calm your nervous system, and it allows change to take place wherever it's needed. It's an incredibly relaxing experience.
Sessions are one hour.
Who it’s for
I see adults, kids and babies. And this work is phenomenal for little ones!
People often come to me when they're:
Struggling to recover from an injury or a fall
Dealing with digestive issues, anxiousness or sleep issues
Your nervous system directs every other system in your body. So when the signals it sends get interrupted, it can affect how well those other systems are able to do their jobs.
Craniosacral therapy isn't a replacement for medical care, and I'm always happy to work alongside your doctor and other providers.
How it fits with my nervous system work
A lot of what I teach focuses on mindset and bottom-up techniques to retrain your nervous system. But if there's a physical piece that's keeping your nervous system from functioning the way it's meant to, that has to be addressed too, and craniosacral therapy is ideal for that.
About me
I'm Deborah Cobb, an Integrative Health Practitioner (IHP) with 20+ years as a massage and craniosacral therapist (LMT, CCST).
I first studied craniosacral therapy at Bastyr University in Seattle around 2006 and took every class they offered. Then in 2018, I completed an intensive 7-month training with Beth Cachet at Intelligent Heart Compassionate Mind and became a certified craniosacral therapist.
My interest in the nervous system started with my own. I spent years dealing with panic attacks no one could explain, and it took me about 15 years to understand what was happening in my body. I don't want it to take that long for anyone else.
